New Posting 4-2-2025
4/4/25 SOLD!!!
Two trained 17-month-old livestock guardian dogs (Pup & Lucy) located at West Plains Missouri.
These two dogs are litter mates, both are Great Pyrenees females, not fixed, bonded to each other, will be sold together as a guarding unit. Their names are Pup (smaller one) & Lucy (larger one). These are outstanding guardian dogs that only care about taking care of the sheep or goats. They are being hand fed daily but could be trained to eat out of a sheep proof dog feeder. You can see from the pictures below that they are being kept in the paddock with two temporary polybraid hot wires. These dogs were raised with woven wire fencing and have been exposed to hot wire fencing for two months.
The owner is keeping another set of working dogs and have these available to sell. If you’re looking for predator protection with this spring lambing season on top of us, don’t miss this rare opportunity. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing while you’re sleeping at night that you have a well-trained pair of dogs that are protecting your sheep during lambing season from predators. The owner has small children and mentions that these dogs are extremely well mannered around kids. For pricing info email Greg at: gtjudy4099@gmail.com
Green Pastures Farm trained guardian dogs are developed in the sheep flock from weaning. Our dogs are bonded onto the flock starting at 8 weeks old. All puppies are given 3 rounds of Parvo shots spaced at 3 week intervals. All pups are from working guardian parents, not pet dogs raised around people.
Our dogs are friendly, but they are bonded onto our sheep flock. They will bark at strangers very aggressively which is what they are bred to do. Our dogs bark at anything that is strange or perceived as a predator to their flock. They are broke to hot wire fences and stay with the sheep. They are trained to eat from our sheep proof guardian dog feeder that holds fresh clean dog food.
