15 South Poll spring calving cow/calf bred pairs, along with 4 spring calving heifers located in Chillicothe Missouri. Due to family health issues the owner has decided to reduce herd size. These docile cows and heifers are 100% forage raised and rotated daily. Never wormed, hot wire trained. The offspring of the cows are from a Green Pastures Farm bull.

I just got an update from the seller. Because of family health issues, the seller has not pulled the bulls from the cow herd.
The date to do that is set for next Tuesday, September 22nd. The cows & heifers need to be removed 30 days before an accurate pregnancy test can be done on the spring calving cow/calf pairs and heifers.
That gives us the last week of October to set the auction date after getting back the pregnancy results. Watch our website for the posted website auction date to be set.
The seller just got 3” of rain yesterday and has tons of great fall forage, this will be a bonus to the buyers with extra nice condition on the cows and calves that are to be sold.
It also gives the auction buyers 30 more days for the cow/calf pairs & heifers that will not be eating your grass but getting fat going into winter! The weather will be cooler for hauling livestock after the sale as well. It’s a win-win scenario for the buyers.

AUCTION RULES: All bids must have initial phone number submitted in an email to Greg with bid. All bids are placed in order onto the website as they are received. Greg’s email is gtjudy4099@gmail.com. If your bid is surpassed, you can re-bid as long as the auction is open. You can bid on any number of cows that you want. Minimum bids are $100. All bids after 10 pm on Thursday night must be in $200 increments. When auction ends, winning bidder must settle payment details with Greg immediately after auction.

Green Pastures Farm Grass Genetic Cows
Cows developed at Green Pastures Farm are extremely low input. They must raise a good calf and breed back on solely grass with mineral. Our mature cow weight will range from 950 to 1050 lbs. Our steers out of these cows will finish on grass in 24-26 months. We don’t place any crutches under our cows. No wormers, no shots, no fly tags or rubs. They must wean their own calf, be dog gentle, and hot wire broke. Cows are adapted to Kentucky 31 endophyte infected tall fescue with clover mixed in the sward. These cattle are extremely heat tolerant and very slick hided in the summer.
100% Grass Fed Steers
Steers born and raised at Green Pastures Farm are never fed anything but forage. They are naturally weaned by their mother. Everything is banded at 12 months of age. We use the natural testicle to put on weight as long as possible. The steers never get any shots, wormers or grain. They are grazed with the mob with twice daily moves across lush clean re-grown pastures. They have access to free choice mineral and clean water. Steers are hot wire broke, very heat tolerant, slick hided and extremely docile. Steers will average from 950 to 1100 lbs when finished.
