Why do you want a South Poll Bull?

Do you want to make money with solely grass, no grain or licks?

You cannot build a herd of grass efficient cows using 1800-2200 lb herd bulls as sires. These bulls’ mature weight is 1100-1300 lbs. and they produce daughters that mature at 1000 lbs. If you want to finish your steers in 24 months on grass and downsize your monster cows, these bulls will do that for your grazing operation.

Keep more money in your pocket and use bulls that will stay fat and breed cows without any supplement. You can make a very good living with grazing animals that are bred to perform solely on forage that is grown on your farm. Don’t send all your money to town trying to support your cow herd with expensive inputs. Your cattle herd should work for you and not be an expensive hobby that requires constant purchased off-farm supplementation.

Read on for more about the benefits of Green Pasture Farms South Poll Bulls

Our bulls are very slick-hided, heat tolerant and KY-31fescue adapted. They stay fat all year on fescue/clover pastures. They will not melt away when you expose them to your cow herd in breeding season. Our bulls have to work for a living solely from grass and they love breeding cows.

We’ve learned that if you want to make money on grass with livestock, your animals cannot look like elephants. They must have a barrel gut, fine dense bones, minimal leg, and be thick built. Our bulls are aggressive foragers that make their living from our pastures while breeding cows. Our bulls are very docile and safe to be around.

Though the South Poll was bred for the hot humid south, their range is expanding. Our bulls are doing well from Utah all the way to the east coast and from Nebraska all the way down to the Mexico border. I even have several producers with them in southern Minnesota.
