On-line Sheep/Dog Auction

AUCTION RULES: All bids must have initial phone number submitted in an email to Greg with bid. All bids are placed in order onto the website as they are received. Greg’s email is gtjudy4099@gmail.com. If your bid is surpassed, you can re-bid as long as the auction is open. You can bid on any number of cows that you want. Minimum bids are $100. All bids after 10 pm on auction ending night must be in $200 increments. When auction ends, winning bidder must settle payment details with Greg immediately after auction.

140 head of St Croix/Katahdin sheep located Athens Georgia

Whole flock dispersal. Reason for selling, owner lost lease of Solar Farm grazing contract.

 

There are 100 ewes that range from 2-4 years old, 40 ewe lambs born April 2026. Sheep are hot wire trained, rotated on grass. Never wormed, no grain, no antibiotics. Lambed unassisted outdoors. Everything you need to start your own grazing operation with trained sheep, dogs and equipment, it’s all here folks in one auction. 

There are two trained fixed guardian dogs that are 3 years old, in their prime. Their names are Duke and Seven (brother/sister) They are Anatolian, Akbash cross and will be sold together. They are very well trained to stay with the sheep and keep predators at bay. They have run off all the feral hogs on their grazing lease, no hogs come around anymore. They are trained to eat out of a sheep proof dog feeder.

The ewes will be sold separately from the ewe lambs. We have very nice rams available at the farm in Georgia for folks needing rams with any ewes that are purchased at this auction.

All Grazing gear to be sold together except the corral and panels which will sell separately.

34 Doe Goats Kiko/Pygmy Cross, 22 doeling kids, 1 billy

Super nice clean flock of goats located in North Missouri. These goats are brush and weed eating eating machines. 56 females and 1 billy along with billy kids if interested. Goats are being rotated with 2 polywires on a daily basis. Never had grain, no foot trimming, no wormer.  These Kiko/ Pygmy crosses are extremely low maintenance goat that thrive on woody plants and weeds.

Minimum purchase is 10 head.

Green Pastures Farm St. Croix-sired ewe lambs are raised solely on forage. There is no hoof trimming, no grain, no weaning, no shots or worming and minimal hay. These sheep are broke to hot wire and being moved every 2 days. They are extremely aggressive foragers towards brush, weeds and anything with a thorn on it. They are our primary tool for controlling woody sprouts in the numerous new silvopasture areas that we are developing across the farms. Our sheep even prefer to forage for their food through heavy snow.

 

We have never wormed our St. Croix sired sheep since we started with them 16 years ago. To create a parasite resistant herd, only ewes that demonstrated resistance have been allowed to stay on the farm. This culling process was extremely tough on our initial flock. Once all parasite resistant ewes and rams were identified, we moved forward building our flock.

Grass finished Lamb For Sale

Lambs raised at Green Pastures Farm are 100% forage finished. Lambs are naturally weaned by their mother on pasture. They are moved every two days across our various farms behind electric polybraid. They get a high selection of numerous plants ranging from tree leaves, weeds, clovers, various grasses, weeds, vines and anything with a thorn on it. Due to their small mouth they are extremely efficient at removing leaves that are inaccessible to our cattle. Grass finished lambs are sold at 100-120 lbs live weight, hanging weight is 50-60 lbs.
