Keep it simple and easy to move. Check out this video that shows our economical movable water tank that does not tear up your pasture. Puggy conditions? No problem with this setup.
It is hard to beat a well constructed farm pond for livestock water. Once you catch the rain water it is free to use for supplying quality water to your animals. Make sure it is built correctly and it will last for 100 years plus!
When selecting pond sites be careful not to build ponds that cover up a bunch of grass. Once your precious land is covered with water, your livestock will never graze that area again. Just remember, livestock do not need ponds big enough to ski on, just provide clean abundant high quality water.

Do you have a pic or a diagram of the siphon? Tank size, refill rate and drop from pond surface level?
Thanks,
Doug
